What are Digital Coupons or eOffers & Esavings Coupons??

I received an email from a reader about eoffers so I thought I would re post this for her and anyone else who has questions about digital coupons.

Digital Coupons are electronic coupons that you can add directly to your stores rewards card. For instance you can register you Giant Eagle advantage card HERE. Once you have registered your card you can "clip" the coupons that you want to add to your card HERE. The screen look like the image below. Then when you purchase the item using you Advantage Card the amount of the coupon will automatically come off your total just like any other coupon would. Giant Eagle is one of the few stores that will still allow you to "stack" these eoffers with a regular manufacturer cpn. For example, if you had the $2 off Allegra eoffers on you card (pictured below) and a regular manufacturer cpn for $2 off (let's say from the Sunday's paper) you could buy 1 Allegra and you would get a total of $4 off that one item.

Helpful tips to keep in mind:

1. Do not load more than 90 eoffers to your card at any given time. This includes eoffers from any source. (cellfire, shortcuts, etc. which we cover in more detail below) It seems that any more than that may cause problems at the register and your eoffers may not come off of your total.

2. You always want to double check your receipts to see if your eoffers have come off, there have been some issues with these in the past and you can always go to the customer service desk or call Giant Eagle directly and they will resolve any discrepancies for you.

3. You can "stack" these with manu. cpns however the eoffers will NOT double

4. You can only use an eoffer one time so if you are buying multiple of the same product the eoffer will only come off ONCE.

5. You are NOT able to use 2 of the same eoffer from 2 different sources on the same transaction. For example, if you added a GE eoffer for $2 off Allegra and you also added the same $2 Allegra cpn from a different source (like Shortcuts.com) only one of those eoffers will come off your total. You may actually lose the 2nd eoffer all together. So if its a good deal and you want to use more than one eoffer you would have to load the eoffers at separate times and go back to the store to redeem the 2nd duplicate eoffer. If you are confused by this or any of the information in this post feel free to email me at fillersfinds@yahoo.com

6. You can now download GE eoffers directly from your smart phone.

Cellfire eCoupons: This site is offer additional digital coupons that work the same way eoffers do. You register your card with your phone number. Once signed in you add the ecoupons directly to your card. There are not usually a lot of GE offers with Cellfire but there are a lot that can be added to other stores cards like Safeway. Go HERE to see what stores are participating in your area.

Shortcuts eCoupons: These also work the same way eoffers do. If you are using your GE card you can only add the coupons that DO NOT have the globe pictured. Again, there are a lot more offers for different store cards then can be used with the GE card so go HERE to see what stores participate in your area.

P&G eOffers : Proctor and Gamble now offers there own version of the ecoupon. Since this is who GE teamed up with for their eoffer program you will often find the same offers you do at GE site. So be sure to review the hints above and understand you can not use both at the same time.

Esavings sites:Esavings sites offer a very similar program. You register your cards, you clip the offer to the card and redeem when you purchase the item. However instead of the amount of the offer coming off of your bill it actually gets transferred to a "savings" account that you can pull money from down the road.

Upromise eCoupons
This site has been around for awhile. They promote that the savings account is to save for college and there allot of different ways you can earn money towards your account. Go HERE to see all the details. But you do not just have to use the account towards a college fund. You can use the money for whatever reason you'd like.

SavingStar
SavinStar is a new site that acts just as the Upromise account. Every offer you redeem is transferred to you savings account. Go HERE for all the details and to sign up!
